Ikegami on InterBEE 2025 (Tokyo/Japan)
Following a successful IBC Amsterdam in September and NAB New York in October, Ikegami will demonstrate examples from its wide range of broadcast television production equipment on booth 613 at Inter BEE 2025. The show will be held from Wednesday November 19 through Friday 21 at its usual Makuhari Messe venue in Chiba City.

Product highlights will include the UHL-X40 multipurpose camera, introduced at Inter BEE 2024 and now fully deliverable. Making its Inter BEE debut will be the VFE-P711AD 7-inch OLED viewfinder.
UHL-X40 multipurpose camera
The Ikegami UHL-X40 is a 4K-UHD camera in a compact box-style housing measuring just 120 x 128 x 111.9 mm in size and weighing only 1.1 kg. The camera control unit is also compact and light (145 x 145 x 173 mm, 2.6 kg). Camera head and CCU can be connected by up to 10 km of duplex single-mode fiber. This makes the UHL-X40 especially suitable for outdoor installation as its inherent galvanic isolation safeguards against lightning surges. The connecting fiber carries uncompressed RGB raw pixel data and includes a 100BASE-T Ethernet trunk for external data such as pan/tilt control. Three high quality 2/3-inch UHD sensors with a global shutter pixel architecture capture natural images even when shooting LED screens, clear of geometric distortion during still frame replay. The global shutter imagers also minimize artifacts when televising flash/strobe-illuminated stage environments. Camera sensitivity is F11 in UHD 50p and signal-to-noise ratio is 62 dB in HD. HDR and BT.2020 chroma space support are provided as standard. Included in the UHL-X40 feature set are HD cutout and image reversal functions, plus optical vignetting correction for F-stop ramping zoom lens compensation. An optional tally light can be attached to the upper front of the camera head. The CCU can output two formats simultaneously, such as 2160p UHD and 1080i or 1080p HD. A supplementary HD monitor output from the CCU includes information such as menu, characters and markers. Focus assist can be enabled on this output, providing viewfinder video to a remotely located robotics operator.
VFE-P711AD 7-inch OLED viewfinder
Ikegami’s new VFE-P711AD is a 7-inch high resolution OLED viewfinder compatible with all UNICAM XE and UNICAM HD cameras. It will be demonstrated on a UHK-X750 4K-UHD HDR studio camera. Developed from the established VFL-P700AD LCD viewfinder, the OLED version offers very high quality chroma reproduction, high brightness and high contrast ratio, ensuring clear visibility even in environments with intense ambient light. The fast response time of the OLED panel enhances the operating experience, especially when capturing content in high frame rate mode where precise focusing and framing are vital. Integral features include a waveform monitor and vectorscope plus audio level metering. The viewfinder also incorporates two front-facing green/red tally indicators plus a rear-facing red tally. The VFE-P711AD supports digital interfacing to a UNICAM XE camera or can be connected via a VFC-700i5 analog cable to any camera in the UNICAM HD series. The viewfinder can also be used as a field monitor for an external 3G-SDI feed. Power can be sourced directly from the camera or external 12 volt DC, allowing standalone operation. Energy consumption is approximately 12 watts. Dimensions and weight of the viewfinder are 232 x 150 x 73 mm WHD, 1.1 kg. All VFL-P700AD-compatible accessories can be used with the new OLED viewfinder. These include fixed and hinged field hoods, a studio hood, an above-camera viewfinder mount, cables and a carrying case.
